Process
Mixed Media Collage and Illustration forms the the core of my art and design methodology.
History
I was born into a culture of makers, a place without fear of a new material, process or concept. From that foundation, I have pursued a broad understanding of material, self, others and place.
I joined the US Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist focusing on graphic design and print production for 5 years. Afterward, returning to college to complete my Bachelor’s in Fine Art in Illustration and a Master’s in Fine Art. Through undergrad I refined my design and illustration competency. In my graduate studies I explored an interest in the intersection between painting, sculpture, the individual and collective history through color, structure and symbolism.
I spent 2 years teaching individuals technical fabrication skills for OTIS College of Art and Design.
I spent 2 years in a retail environment, refocusing on my methodology of teaching, wanting every individual to walk away more confident and interested in their own agency with materials.
Future
I am looking for my next challenge; for environments both educational , government, and private industry that can benefit from the broad perspectives of design, communication strategy and material process I bring to every student and every project.
